Falz’s management have reacted to the 7-day ultimatum given to the rapper by an Islamic group, MURIC to take down his ‘This is Nigeria’ video or face legal action from them.
The Islamic group, Muslims Rights Concern, MURIC, had earlier released a statement condemning the idea behind Hijab-wearing girls dancing shaku shaku in Falz’s video. The group order him to take down the video which, according to them, ridicules their religion: Islam.
In reaction to their statement, Falz’s management made it clear that the video won’t be taken down. They urged the group to proceed to court to address their grievances and that they are prepared to meet them there.
Falz management stated, in a tweet, that,
“we have nothing to say. We are not withdrawing the video neither are we commenting on their claims. If they (MURIC) have any grievance they can head to court and we will meet them.”
